Flaming Heart Tattoos was originally opened in January 1991; by Tink, under the name of Dixie Design Studio II located on Hwy 107 and Tower Rd. This was the location of the first Tattoo Studio in the valley. It opened in 1984 and was called Tattooland It was owned and operated by Singapore John. The shop changed hands in 1987 to an artist named Dutch. Tink started working there in mid 1990 and took over the shop in 1991. At this time there were only two other Tattoo shops in the valley. One of them was on Padre Island and one was in Pharr. It wasn’t until 1993 before another shop opened in the upper valley. In 1996 the name was changed to Dixie Tattoo Studio and remained that way until the shop moved to its current location in November 1999. We currently have three excellent artists and a piercer employed. | |
